United Way of Susquehanna County Announces 2026 VITA Tax Assistance Schedule

MONTROSE, PA – The United Way of Susquehanna County is proud to announce the return of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for the 2026 tax season. This vital service provides free tax preparation for qualifying individuals and families, ensuring they receive the full credits and refunds they deserve.

As the new year begins, the VITA program is ready to help Susquehanna County residents navigate their tax filings with professional, reliable support. Last year, the program helped over 300 Susquehanna County Residents save on preparation fees and maximize their financial returns, and organizers are eager to expand that impact this year.

“We are looking forward to providing this essential service to our neighbors once again,” said Tom Follert, Regional Community Director of the United Way of Susquehanna County. “By offering multiple locations across the county, we aim to make tax assistance accessible to everyone who needs it, from Susquehanna to Forest City to Choconut. We are grateful to the Area Agency on Aging for assisting with the scheduling process”

Appointment Scheduling Appointments are available for all citizens regardless of age and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents are encouraged to call early to secure their preferred time and location. (Must meet income requirements)
